Egyptian Fashion Designer Farida Temraz has accomplished so much at such a young age, establishing her Haute Couture brand, Temraza, in Egypt and catapulting her prominent success overseas.
Upon taking both London and Paris Fashion Week by storm in the past, it only made sense for the up and coming brand’s next landing to arrive at the Big Apple to make an appearance at one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year, New York Fashion Week.
That being said, it should come as no surprise that Temraza went from nominee to winner, receiving the title of ‘Best Female Couture Designer’ at NYFW.
“I am overwhelmed and full of tears in my eyes!” the fashion designer wrote on her Instagram.
TEMRAZA has just received “BEST FEMALE COUTURE DESIGNER at New York Fashion Week” Award! I am overwhelmed and full of tears in my eyes! I want to thank every single person supported me and believed in me! It all started with a dream and big passion! And here I am right now! And YES we will bring Egypt back on the Fashion Map! I will do whatever it takes! And I truly love you all 🙏 THANK YOU!
Not to mention, Temraza’s new collection, The Xecutive, took over the Art Hearts Fashion NYFW event runway on Feb 12th, the designer described her F/W line as a symbol for female empowerment and a celebration of womanhood; it is a collection “for women, by women, to women.”
Temraza’s solid stream of accomplishments may very well redefine the fashion scene not only overseas, but within Egypt as well; “We will bring Egypt back on the Fashion Map! I will do whatever it takes!” Temraz wrote.
Last year saw one of her original designs sported by actress Laura Bell Bundy on the SAG Awards red carpet, “It’s a proof that hard work pays off, you don’t need to have connections, and you just have to work hard. Some brands even pay actresses to wear their clothes, and I didn’t even do that. It takes brands almost 20 years in order to reach this level of exposure, and I’ve only been on the platform for four years,” Temraz told us.
