Muricata, Omar Samra’s experiential youth learning division of Wild Guanabana, brought about another edition of the Kidathon last Friday, this time at Smart Village, 6th of October city.
Sponsored by real estate company, Inertia, and in partnership with Marwa Fayed’s Toy Run Foundation, the event started at 9:00 am and hosted kids (ages 8 – 14), which were divided into 3 groups, in order to complete two runs, then join a family yoga class followed by an arts & crafts workshop.
“We are very pleased with the remarkable enthusiasm for the event from both kids and their families, which was evident in the brief time in which we fulfilled our registration capacity,” said Samra.
The first Kidathon took place in Gouna back in November 2015, marking the beginning of a successful run that continued across Egypt. The event’s main purpose is to promote the significance of sports and instil competitive values in an atmosphere of persistence and generosity.
“Children were also excited to register by donating toys to Marwa Fayed’s Toy Run, which will go to the Syrian refugees living in Egypt through our partner, Fard Foundation”, added the mountaineer about the company’s plans to extend their spirit of giving.
Children aged 8 – 11 completed 2 kilometers along with their parents, and older kids (12 – 14) completed 4 kilometers
Eighteen kids were announced winners of the marathon on Friday and received Kidathon trophies while everyone else received certificates and medals for participation.
